We're going to spend the next two weeks talking about Narcissism and the dangers of having a narcissist in your organization. Today, we're going to define what a narcissist is and how they function.

Simply put, a narcissist is someone who has an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others. Narcissism crosses the line into dysfunction when it involves arrogance, entitlement, and manipulation.

During my time coaching businesses and business leaders, there have been a few instances where we've had to identify and eliminate narcissistic individuals from the organization.

A narcissist sees the world as they want to see it, and they will do everything in their power to manipulate systems, people, form alliances, and create problems to get you and everyone around you to see the world as they see it.
