Losing A Parent

Losing a parent sucks. Regardless of your age, their age, how it happens - it just sucks. There are no two ways about it.
We are coming up on the 10th anniversary of losing my wife's dad, Scott. We acknowledge and recognize that there are people who have lost a parent far younger than 65, but whenever we lose a parent, it always feels "too soon" or that we didn't have enough time with them.
There are a lot of things that we still hold dear and lessons that we learned from Scott that we have been able to hold onto and hand down to our kids. And we hope that if you have lost a parent, you have some things to hold onto as well.
Parents are a gift. Don't take their presence for granted. Call your mom, call your dad. Tell them you love them. Because, as we all know, tomorrow is never promised.
